It is time to share some data from the strongest winds, rainfall, hail size, thunderstorm, snowfall, temperature, humidity.
This will be good to look at now and compare them with future data say by 2020, when high weather records could well be insane .
Highest wind gust- Wind NW- at 112kmh, on either Christmas day 2001 or 2002.
Highest rainfall from a weather system- 87.6mm ( date unknown sometime during the winter of 1998).
Highest rainfall over a small duration- 63mm in half an hour during a thunderstorm in Golden bay, 2001.
Largest hailstone and or/ storm- Marble sized hail 20-25mm in diamter during a hailstorm which lasted 30mins on January 5th 2002 during a thunderstorm.
Hottest maximum temperature- 38.7C, early January 2003.
Coldest minimum temperature= -9.8C July 2001, during which time Hanmer forest recorded -15C.
Biggest snowfall in CM,s- June 12th 2006 at 8.5cm, snowfall of 1992 was not recorded down by me, but would have been much more.
Now what are everyone else's?.
Cheers
Jason.

Re: Your best weather records!!!
I've only recorded for a short time (temps since Jan06, accurate rain sine jan07, wind are only estimates) so the readings are not a good representation of the long term extremes that could be experienced here.
Highest gust: estimate is ~110kmh in July 10 storm, official is when i went up to Mt Wellington on a day with a gale with my wind meter and got 102kmh. Other days have been around 100-110kmh as well.
Highest rain from a weather system: 145mm Mar28-30 this year, 104mm on the 29th
Highest rainfall over a small duration: about 43mm in an hour, another incidence had about 23mm in 10mins.
Largest hailstone: I observed some stones about 15mm in diameter in 2002.
Highest temperature: 27.6C this year
Lowest temperature: -1.0C this year
And obviously the snow record is 0cm

Re: Your best weather records!!!
Dont have a weather station or record the weather on a daily basis.
But i do know:
The heighest rainfall in a short period was 65mm in 55mins in early october or late september in 2005 from a thunder storm.
The wettest month was Feb 2004 (which everyone would have as no doubt) with over 400mm and 100 of that in 24hour period.
Largest hail was 15-20mm diameter during a thunderstorm
