The Hamilton detector is picking up lots of weak strikes as well... they show up out to sea...

but probably high based?
I made it as far as Pukekohe and hit the easterly there, which was stable looking
so went to pak n save for groceries and home again now! (to now find out there is something happening!)

It all fizzled out pretty quickly by the look of it! just the initial convective break through made for some action for a short time.. just some broad showers now by the look of it

Yes, just a weakish line of showers now moving through Waikato/BOP.
Might dappen things around Mount Maunganui

It was sunny 31st to start with then a change with cloud and rapidly moving SE front came through - no rain but it threatened as clouds were low. It cleared up to bright sunshine just as quickly and left. The afternoon had some occasional clouds but gathering thickly in the west and NW over Hams. At home with the FARS fan running, I recorded 27.0ºC at 15:20 over 25.8 from 14:30 onwards. TV1 recorded us with 25...

Sorry to disappoint you guys... can give me a call, I'm not hard to find if you use some clues, ummm well if you have had an email from me its not... hehe! My webcam at 640x480 is usually pointing to NW but on cloudless days, the cam autofocus unzooms and goes in and out of focus trying to find anything but blue sky... so I re-aim it to the west...
