roofs are white here now, traffic lights etc, trees even getting white, still snowing beautifully.

just watching a cold shower go over the waitaks....you can see the snow turning to sleet at about the 300mm level!heard on the radio it's sleeting in Auckland

I'm pretty tempted to go for a walk to my mates house but my hair will blow everywhere =/. Flakes are a little bigger now. When was the last time in chch is was windy and snowed?

Saw a flash out the window.. LOUD THUNDER and long... Must of been right above us.. Thought a transformer had gone or something

I heard no thunder. Snow is coming down fairly lightly. Slight whiteness to roofs and grass. Temp pertty much the same as a while ago. Up slightly.

Whats happening Ashburton,Timaru.Any News?snow progress/roads Had some small stuff a few minutes ago been like that for about 20-30 minutes now its the thick stuff again.2mm/hr here.temp 0.8

Just been outside up on the port hills and there is just over an inch of snow on the road and about 2 on the lawn.

Still sleety here - alternating between mostly rain and mostly flakes. Cloud cleared briefly enough to see a thick layer on the top of the Teviot hills just north of here, I would say down to about 150m.
