M/S 7 day maps are showing a quite large area of low pressure bringing heavy rain to parts of New Zealand from next Monday onwards....What are your thoughts on this?

A week away is practically an eon away for NZ weather...heaps can change between now and then...as I have been shot down before for this but have learned my lesson (and so, now, should you, Mark) there is no reason to discuss an event til it's about 72-96 hours MAX away from happening.

This topic is now rather irrelevant, so I will delete it.
