Fohn effect...NW flow up high by the looks. Glorious day topped 30 degrees just before 1pm

sure is a fab day today!! DP is up aswel, its 11.1 at the moment and 26C I was surprised to see 27.4C at 11am this morning.

Just hit 25.0°C and rising in our backyard (DP 16°C) - not bad for a typical moderate SW'er.

Seriously, it peaked at 31.4C here and then cooled off with a slight SE then NE later.
Much cooler in Darfield where it only reached 29C, today's national high, and much cooler than that at the airport where it only reached 28C.

Was out fishing last night at Bailyes Beach, SE change came thru around 9ish, was pretty strong left about 15min after it came thru. Wind was more E before the change was NE in town

SW Cape on Stewart Is has the highest mean windspeed of the currently listed NIWA sites and would beat those places for NW, W and SW.
