Thanks for those explanations spwill and Michael and thanks for that link Rwood, but either it doesn't like foriegners accessing its data or its having a slow day because its constantly timing out. I seem to remember looking at a similar thing a while back for weather data for the Nelson region, its definitely very comprehensive.

Well, this can't be good...been warm and dry for a while now and just glancing at the ats site...one of the more depressing forecasts I've seen in a while, 12 days of exactly the same thing, warm and dry. This thread might need to extend into mid-August, methinks. I can't imagine this being good for all that stuff that needs water...
...not to mention that it's terribly boring.

ECMWF is indicating things may change for us come mid-August...we'll see......(VERY early days yet!)
