Re last nights (and this morns) rain-radar imagery, looks like relatively stationary false coastal echos or 'sea clutter'.
Thought I'd add a list of the lowest 12-monthly rainfalls at Ch'ch Gardens for June-May periods (year given is the starting year):

1878 368
1877 380

The countless days of no rain is about to come to an end from tomorrow night and during Thursday. Blue skies seem to think just few spots of rain/drizzle tomorrow night and Thursday morning but GFS and Metservice Maps going for around 25-30mm of rain for the City and looks like a few southerlies to end the week as well. Gfs going for 35-40mm for the rest of the week. We Shall see. Off to Westport again on Friday - Wednesday so hopefully some activity overthere and through the passes on the way there and back.

Nice Calm Mild Day Today
Cheers

More than 14 spots here, infact some rather large sporadic drops for awhile enough to just wet the grounds.
Looks like some well needed rain tomorrow a good 10-20mm wouldnt go a miss certainly.
First Daffodils just coming out now in my garden :-) .

long term average max will be about 12C so those temps are very high but look very localized.

A Good 15mm here today. Only reached light to moderate intensity but some good sporadic all morning. Some bigger than a 50 cent coin!

Interesting pattern looking at todays rain radars, most of the rain activity was from Christchurch southwards.
Only 6mm here so far, but the cooler temperatures today made for a change.

Yes it was aye Mark? was actually quite heavy rain this morning, few sporadics!!
Was a welcome decent amount of rain and then showers off and on all afternoon, bit foggy/drizzly stuff here now though but not cold, supposed to clear tomorrow and warm up a little bit.

The front was rather stationary over here hense the rain fall here and possibly south of ChCh much more significant than in places further north.
Any way it was most welcome. Best for a while. There was even slight flooding in places which really the ground, with the lack of rain recently, should of soaked up the rain.
