Cold Southerly Outbreak A'Coming

Unread post by NZ Thunderstorm Soc »

There looks as though there is a cold southerly outbreak a'coming with some noticable low temperatures in some southern areas of New Zealand, as an intense anticylone establishes itself to the SE of Australia.
( I was going to put this posting up sooner but I thought I would wait for a few models runs)

10 degrees here at the moment light rain most of the day had a good downpour around 10am lasted less than 5 minutes 8mm of rain so far may see some snow on the ranges once all this clears.

I was down in New Plymouth on Tuesday and in the morning it was really cold. It was an absolute stroke of luck that I had a jersey with me.

Some nice pictures at the herald of the storm in Wellington.Pity they fill the $3 printed edition with so much crap in there and has a clip of 4 inches by 2 inside the paper.
