Wellingtons weather is no shittier than ours in Auckland, its only a bit cooler on average and the wind run is about the same due to the very few real windy days in the year ie when there is a slow front over the SI in a NWer or a deep depression off hawkes bay or wairapapa giving a southely but other than those exceptions its much more settled than auckland :P

Mean hourly wind speeds

Auckland Airport 18km/h
Wellington Airport 27km/h
Christcurch Airport 14km/h

In the case of Auckland, the airport would be the windiest location in the city as its stuck out on the Manukau Harbour.

I thought the windiest place in Auckland was Micheal's front garden? ;)
