New weather station issues

Unread post by kelhb »

Hey all
Finally splashed out and bought a weather station (Digitech) today, and have hit an issue with it...does not seem to sending any data at all to the base..cant see any logical reason for it and I have been through all the instructions a hundred times to make sure I havent missed anything but nope. Anybody else had any problems with this brand in particular, suggestions? I was really looking forward to getting it running and now :-k

Your Digitech supposedly is a rebranded Lacrosse WS-1081.
I dont know why everyone seems to rebrand that weather station, strange.....

Try turning on the console last rather than the other way round.

It may also be advisable to check what else is running on that frequency..........

Hope this helps

No unfortunately. UHF CB (if you are Australian) or PRS (here in NZ) is 476.425 to 477.4 MHz.

Most weather stations are in the 433 MHz LIPD or SRD (in NZ) band centered on 433.92 MHz, this is conveniently where the Amateur (Ham) 70cm repeater inputs are.

Apparently those weather stations in that model are quite unreliable.

Wireless Internet 802.11G/N runs at 2.4Ghz and 802.11A or 802.11N runs at 5.4Ghz (depending on what router you have)

Most common one you will have is 802.11G @ 2.4Ghz :)

That shouldn't cause any issues with your weather station.
