Yes I cropped the photo but the power lines give scale. I had the lens in the sky for Anvil crawlers . It was the Evening after we saw the meso, NW Kansas.

the Q is keep asking myself is, is the strike in front or behind the power lines?
maybe we should have a POLL !
( i lean myself towards being 50m behind them?)

That strike looks behind the power lines. I'm glad lightning is not interested in striking cars as I think we would have taken a few hits on that trip!

Here's my attemt to get Lightning and a Rainbow in the same photo.
Rainbow ( weak) is on the left side of photo and lightning crawler at the top of the pic.
Location Kansas.

The Rainbow and Lightning had been much better but hard to capture on my SLR Camera, shutter speed less than two sec. :)

The use of fiters would have been of benifit.

:lol: awsome photos there from that trip. some day id like to go on a trip like that to check out some awsome storms like that over there. But anyway sweet as photos. Didnt read much of the writing :lol: to much to read because this is the first time iv seen this topic :shock:

Never really were a bookworm were you mike ;) :lol: .
I can stick my head in a book for hours but I can also get outdoors do something to boost my adrenaline. 8)
Will do the USA chase one day just a fact of getting the $$$ for it all.
