i agree Tim. i have been out on the hill watching things for the past hour. Things are really trying to our south but keep dieing. nothing has developed north of about Te Awamutu. Really hoping for something to develop here between now and 6pm so i can go for a chase tonight.

There's a light north east breeze over the upper North Island...think that's killing the conditions a bit

The NE is quite dominant here.....
There is a cell developing to the WSW here but looking North it looks too stable.

thunder heard here in hawkes bay, plenty of instability over the ranges but the onshore breeze is blowing it further into the ranges rather than this way.

Yeah we had the bullet, didnt have the gun to fire it thought. TT, Jamie & co pinched it down there way.David wrote:Hey Paul (or any other intelligent person who knows ),

Sbz came through too early, uppers destabilized at the wrong time & they again they stole the gun to create their own PyroCb down Matangi way.. unfortunately all that did was piss a lot of Aucklanders off. Nice try guys!

Re: Convective period, NI, 25-28th January
I've been sitting on the edge of Hamilton watching the great looking Cbs to the West and South, now there is a very promising line of buildup overhead.. I thing the NE may be subsiding here.. certainly feels like great temp and DPs!
Are you around Tim? hows it looking?
