Nice, have stayed at Wichita falls a few times, never had a storm there. Our luck was with Medicine Lodge which put on some great shows.

Nice shots!! Great you guys are back! Seems like the moderate risk today has been downgraded on the early convection going up all over the southern plains. We will arrive in DFW 1am Tuesday, then a wait for Alamo to open at 6am (probably try to sleep at the airport lol). Then most likely drive south into south Texas. My number is 347-325-0880 and here until June 13.

We are currently tossing up on where our target area should be today, I think we are going to head for the best surface heating which at the moment looks to be NW Texas.

There is no sign of drought here with Oklahoma and Texas one big bog. Water everywhere and the storms cause flash flooding. The last three days have seen impressive MCS cross north Texas with decent structure and intense lightning. Large hail about too.

Hopefully we can catch up Foggy. The clear out of current moisture early week will actually be a good thing as we need a re-set in tornado alley!

I have seen photos of muddy roads alright.
California still needs rain but the midwest I see is expecting wetter than average spring
I see there is also a before season starts tropical low to affect eastern USA...

Think you mean Tropical Storm Ana, which was upgraded from a subtropical storm yesterday. A tropical storm in the Atlantic is roughly the equivalent of a warm-cored Cat 1 TC here, whereas a subtropical storm has characteristics of both a warm and cold cored low. And yes, the Atlantic hurricane season doesn't officially start until June 1st.

We missed the big action in North Texas today as we decided to chase in western Oaklahoma for a change of scenery . The storm activity up there was weaker than we were expecting and the storms isolated however we observed heavy hail up to one inch size.

Interesting to see my friends over there getting a decent dose of snow! I thought it was unusual when we got there mid to late April 2013, well we are now a couple of weeks later than that. 3 days of work left for me before I go.

Been quiet for the last couple of days although still seeing storms about. Visited the far SW of Texas yesterday for some sightseeing.
Next major upper level system starts to influence plains weather on Friday and potentially a big weekend for storms coming up.

USA 2015

Unread post by Willoughby »

Nice stuff guys! We may have been on the same storm. Went from Dallas to Lubbock yesterday and caught a storm about 80 miles directly east of Lubbock.

The Canadian chasers reported a tornado off it after we drove through it (and sort of blew it off) some 30 mins prior. Oops. Some photos from yesterday. Hanging around in Lubbock at the moment until convection goes up. Supercells expected.

Very nice photos Willoughby
We were near Abilene yesterday afternoon. Currently sitting in Mcdonals at Post just east of Lubbock.
Plan is to catch the late storms in this region then start the long drive north tonight for tomorrows chase perhaps in Nebraska.
