Yes certainly looks impressive up north,ya lucky buggers
the severe drought continues on here with yet another weather system producing little if any rain,had 1mm overnight.

I don't like the look of that gap in the front... hopefully it's not gonna pass over Auckland!

still incredibly dark here. My solar sensor has not registered any light at all today.
up 13mm now, 7.6 of that in the last hour.

but only light rain..nothing like what the rain radar indicates

Wind has really picked up here from the SE and rain rate still steady around10mm/hr for the past 2.5 hours. Temp has started to drop a bit too with the wind increase. Still incredibly dark for this time of day.

I see 30-50mm has fallen over Waikato this morning. This system has proved to be an under performer for lightning but it is certainly producing heavy rain.

I had 3.6mm at 7.30am. By 12.30 I'll be at about 44mm. If this keeps up I'll be easily at 54mm by 1.30 which means 50mm in 6 hour period. Is that what metservice have as a heavy rain threshold?

Had a heavy shower here, 6 mm last 10 minutes. Very brief distant rumble was heard about 12.30pm.
