Had another thunderstorm this afternoon. And I see. The north shore one had hail it died now. I had 2 storms in one day yay. And 2 more days of this coming up.
Looks like a new cell forming in my area so could. Be a third storm yet

The unstable environment is associated with an upper low that cut off from the polar vortex.

Well we had thunder on Saturday too so yes it's over lol. And 2 more days of thunder risk too.

5mm very quick mm here, just north of here copped the most intense rainfall in that afternoon cell. That makes 55mm so far, only 2mm more needed for my November average. Tomorrow looking just as unstable, especially south Auckland.

The low is wiggling east, now getting a nice north east stream off the gulf. Air temp is 12.5, water temp is 18c.

some good rumbles coming from East Coromandel at the mo, Heading this way. 3rd thunder day. Tomorrow looks good with a clear morning some heating , instability and a Southerly air flow [best setup for viewing/chasing in this area]

Woken by well over a dozen strikes in and around Waikeke between about 12:55am and 1:40am this morning from a very small cell that developed just to the north of here. Didn't get much rain from it here though. And a few more strikes just to our NW between about 5:10am and 5:30am by the looks.
