Some more rain overnight but easing away this morning and eventually clearing and becoming fine and sunny.
Cloud layers moving in from the north this afternoon but clearing away this evening and becoming fine and a frost is on the cards overnight and tomorrow morning. 10.1C for today.

The southerly change came to nothing much this morning with it becoming a sunny day with the occasional cloud and a light NE this afternoon.

Today was an overcast day with drizzle at times, especially this morning. 0.6mm for today.
NE wind back this afternoon with cloud movement turning to the NE.
Today's maximum was 10,5C.

there has been a bit of wind during the night and even a bit of a warming period at times
so the frost looks to be about the same as the last morning (ie ice on car windscreens in auckland)
0.2c currently in Waiuku ..so a nice frost there

I see Niwa are saying NZ is still on track to be the warmest June on record
that will be due to the warm NWer arriving over the next few days and then the end of the month cold snap is too little too late

No frost here, min 2.4C so a little too warm. Frosts have become more rare here the last few years, used to get close to 0 every winter.

Back in 80,s we have had -12c grass frost in the valley here...i.e left a thermometer out on the grass in the valley

Car was not iced leaving at 6.40am in 2.5C, usually doesn't freeze until it gets to 2 or below. And I don't usually notice ice on the grass until sub-2C either

Hi John. That cloud cover had a typical Canterbury arch to the west over the plains this evening.
The next few days should be warmer than normal. But cold and frosty next week

I think the cold snap will be short but the anticyclone will give us some good frosts following the cold snap.

Yes it will john. Biggest frosts we have had all winter. We need to have a weather meeting again at some point. Definitely get Richard back with us, Bob crowder and the rest.

Absolutely stunning day here in Ashburton. The NWer was gusty early this morning but that’s gone and the cloud has cleared. Our first day of decent sunshine for weeks! Currently 18 degrees.
