Off topic but beautiful weather in Niue with full sun and 30+ every day. Locals saying it's way hotter and more humid than normal yet very little bad weather. Coastal water temps measured are 30-31C.

I tipped out 86mm out of my rain gauge in Geraldine today, mind you this is the total for the month so far down there. Another 5.7mm here for today, so this brings up my total for the event to be 57.7mm.
With the oncoming anticyclonic weather, this should lead to a gradual greening up of the area as now autumn should begin to settle in.

Interesting story about NIWA's Henderson North (formally Henderson Riverpark) backyard observer. Along with a few rain stats for this event, it also includes some other historic stats, including NIWA's highest ever Akld temp of 33.1C in Feb 1998…

There is a lot of tree debris on the Auckland city beaches currently , I'm picking it has been washed off the Hunua Ranges/SE Auckland hill country.
