That’s interesting. For my station Nov 2021 was 0.9C warmer than this year. But this year still comes in second place.Nev wrote: Tue 06/12/2022 16:39 NIWA have confirmed today that November 2022 was indeed NZ’s warmest November on record (topping last year by about 0.1C).

Re: General November Weather
^ Yes, Nov 2021's overall record warmth was lead by record mean temps in the North Island, including for Auckland, Tauranga and Hamilton, and 2nd warmest for Wellington. Whereas Nov 2022's overall record warmth was more evenly spread out, with Wellington the only main centre to beat its previous Nov record.
Also worth noting this year's record spring rainfalls in the central North Island, including Hamilton, which also had its wettest winter on record.

Yep it’s certainly felt a cold November here. I was shocked to hear it was “warm”. And yes exceptionally wet since very late May here.

I see your own PWS recorded its 3rd-equal highest Nov T-mean of 16.3C since 2008, although Nov 2021 was a whopping 1.6C warmer.jamie wrote: Wed 07/12/2022 21:32 Yep it’s certainly felt a cold November here. I was shocked to hear it was “warm”. And yes exceptionally wet since very late May here.

Re: General November Weather
My impression was the same, didn't feel like a warm November, however there was some warmth in the first week which had faded from memory and also think expectations have been skewed by some warm Novembers in recent years.jamie wrote:Yep it’s certainly felt a cold November here. General November Weather
Yea I’m still struggling to comprehend how it ended up so warm. It rained the best part of 20/30 days and was cloudy for about 25 days. The nights didn’t feel warm.

Re: General November Weather
Was almost a month of two halves, with the first half being generally much warmer, drier and sunnier than the last half...
