Our Halswell local got 5.1 unofficial. Jeffs at Hoon Hay was 4.6.

Its a bit like those marginal NW days when the airport gets mid 30s and New Brighton struggles to get into the mid 20s.

yes John, I find the Darfield temp thing interesting, being high on the top of the Canterbury plains they can be influenced by a katabatic wind, but then Ive worked in that area in years past and have seen really good frosts too.
