Yes, steady rain in Auckland this morning. Temp 14C. That front has intensified over night so well done to the Met Service for the heavy rain warnings over Northland.

Look at that nice band of cb out to sea on the satellite, like a secondary front around the low.

its that 2nd front that worries me for northland......

they have already recieved a fair bit, and with the addition of short lived heavy bursts on an already saturated and relatively impermeable soil (Ultic) is a concern.

Yes, the moist trough running into a blocking high is a classic heavy rainfall scenario as the weather doesn't clear through easily.
Good burst of heavy in rain in Auckland this morning. Looks like more on the way. Barometer still high though on 1025hpa!

The Front has hardly moved in the past 24hrs.

A new Low early next week will bring more heavy rain to the North though probably brief.
Could be some heavy snow for Northern SI High Country depending on where the Low tracks.

Looks like Flooding is already occuring up there with many rivers bursting thier banks check out Jeff Mackleys site he's in Kaiwaka farr north.
Super saturated rains instead of fats :D  .
Dismal day here again with no rain or drizzle i believe it was drizzling in town this morning nothing here though.
Things should clear up here tomora though.
