Yes -5°C at Taupo this morn. In the Sth, -4°C at Queenstown, Wanaka and Timaru Aero.
Interesting the 6° dif. between Dunedin Aero (-1°C) and the Peninsula.
Dipped to 1.7°C here just before 1am, but about 4°C most of the morn (shower-band passed through around 3am) - down to 3°C now.

Here the low was 2.7° at 12:30am, so no frost at any time of the night, but tonight could be a frosty one...

Down to -2.5°C this morning. Cloud must have come over sometime as the temperature rose to around 0 degrees.
Could have had little freezing rain last night as a a shower past through.

i would suspect that the depth of below freezing air would not be enough?

Re: Report your Frost, or (how low did you go 2009)
Frost this morning got down to -3 degrees. Temp at 310pm was 10.7 degrees and now it is 6.2 and dropping quickly. Not a breathe of wind not even 1km/h dead still and not a cloud in the sky. The funny thing was last night and this morning had some high cloud in some areas, not much but that would have stopped the potential 'coldness' that could of occurred. Tonight should be even colder than the -3. I reckon maybe -4 or -5 for Christchurch. I sense something EXTREMELY COLD!

Re: Report your Frost, or (how low did you go 2009)
sitting on 0 atm with the wind at about 7km/h so as soon as the wind drops off completely the temp should drop very quickly. If it does drop off ill put my money down for a new station record but i cant see the wind dropping off enough so im thinking only like -3.5 tonight.

Maybe won't be a frost here again, as clouds are moving in from the west.
Will have to wait until the anticyclone comes right over to get the true clear weather I am thinking

Yeah its certainly frosty out there and has been since early this evening.
John certainly has a very different temp, just been outside and the ice on the roof of the car is rock solid!
-0.3 at Jeffs.
