41mm rain here since 7pm yesterday
It got rather heavy between 3.30am and 5.30am, 20mm in that 2hr period.

A wet month for Auckland already but not many wet days , much of the months rain falling in hrs.

I love the pic of leaves and pine needles Micheal.
So should upload them more often.......... and one should be of you sweeping them
Overcast atm, didnt have as much rain as thought we might have.

Wait till May you aint seen anything,the neigbour has another tree double the side and when the easterly blows they fly across like bees,SW also to arrive and theres all the pine needles over the house etc too.Worse scenario in autumn sub tropical low from the north and off to the chathams.

I see in the 24 hrs to 9am this morn, NIWA's Albany site on the North Shore recorded 76mm and further N, Warkworth also recorded 70mm.
Here's a few more figures from the NZ Herald. Note that the Pinnacles figure is obviously incorrect. Of the 312mm it recorded since 3pm on Sunday, 223mm of that fell in the 24 hours to 8am this morning...

...In the 24 hours up until 8am this morning, 32mm of rain fell in Whangarei; 46mm in Whangaparaoa; 25mm at Auckland Airport; 143mm in Whitianga; 147mm at The Pinnacles in the Coromandel Ranges; 56mm in Tauranga; 30mm in Rotorua; 49mm in Whakatane, and 67mm in Gisborne.
