DSE sold off the last of their stock for NZ$200...unless you can see that it hasn't suffered from a harsh climate (ie, by the sea someplace up north...heh!) it's probably not worth NZ$200.

Even if it was in TOP condition, if I were you I'd stop bidding before NZ$200. Pay the extra in exchange rates and P&P and get a brand new one from John Perry in Texas (or whoever else might still be selling them).

But it's hard to say really. It might be the last available good WM-918 in NZ! :-)

Just some older i386 systems...mostly in the 300MHz range. They are some of our original Linux servers but are pretty much obsolete after recent upgrades. Still fine for barebones Linux systems, or even Win2K (with additional RAM) so long as the only thing running was the weather app and maybe AV/Firewall.

Yep. Not much use as a general purpose machines these days, but fine for things like *nix or *BSD-based devices, and usable as single-use/single-app DOS/Win95/98/2k machines.

I was in touch with him a few weeks ago and he seemed prepared to do it if we met the shipping and handling costs. I've e-mailed him again tonight, and I'll let you know what he says.

EDIT: Crikey! Just went to that link and saw that it was NZ$200, not US$200! That's a bonus! Gary's getting old, his memory's failing...

EDIT 2: My memory is not so bad after all! I just heard back from John: normally shipping would bump the price up to just under US$200 (NZ$310). I'm hoping we might be able to reduce this somewhat via a bulk purchase.

Shouldnt be any wasps around now as its too cold.If it warms up I find the paper wasps in warm leaf areas and just clap them with my hand and it gets rid of them as they are dozy
