Happy birthday Brian! And what a wonderful sunny day it is!
yes sure was a stunner day.....not normaly like that for the time of year...
but was too good....a michael bee bop situation...
different story this morning, surprisingly heavy showers etc..
the first indication of the change turned up here just before sunset, gathering CU in the change to a SWer
^ Actually, I think it was Bob MacDavitt who originally used the term bebop some years ago when describing a complex and rapidly alternating mix of conditions.
I called it beebop because it was from a song in 1983,lyrics were shes a beebop girl and the weather was windy sunny and clouds scudding across the sky hence why I use it when its SSW.

Got down to 3C here at 5:40am but now 6.6C and overcast.
yes i saw that just after posting ... need to get my console serviced. resets itself when you push the 2nd button. Until now it has never done it itself. But this morning it has partially reset itself at 6am.
The day felt 'warm' earlier this morning at 7 degrees or so, now feels chilly at 9.6 degrees & that's falling fast. Wind has gone from westerly to south-west; storm-warning flashing; raggedy cloud has been coming across for an hour or so and there seems to be dense cloud low down to the south. 53% humidity.
Edit at 10.10am to add: temp. now 8.2 degrees, humidity 59%; definite smell of the sea outside; the distant grey cloud has approached rapidly, now may be 10 - 20 minutes away.
Passed our high of 15 degrees here. Up to 15.5 currently with a NW breeze. No sun today so gives you an idea of how warm the air is for this time of year to be reaching such temperatures with no sun. Only 7.5 degrees in Ashburton at the moment so big contrast, they have a SW there now though. Got to love Christchurch's weather this year, one of the best I can remember to the year to date.

Overcast here with a Light NE. I suggest updating the firmware on the VP2 Jamie.
I wouldn't give it back to Davis NZ you might not get it back for a while, LOL
That SW never made it inland as it stayed a lovely warm NW all day,was light around the middle of the day but has come up stronger in the last hour or so,high of 18C at 2.00
Had a little light rain from the southerly for half an hour this morning; some low cloud rushed back down from the north & disappeared; has been clearish and sunny most of the afternoon. Currently 8.4 degrees & that storm-warning is flashing again...

A Tesa weather-station [thanks to FlyBuys] which flashes a warning if pressure drops a pre-set amount in a stipulated time.
Nor-west wind has strengthened considerably now by the sound of the trees.
