reminds me of surfing at the waikato river mouth, where you have the colder fresh water going over the top of an incoming tide...the warmer salt water is forced down and underneath....so one side of the surf board is warm water and the other is cold water...
and in fact the incoming tide goes up the river....at the river bottom...the fresh water keeps on flowing to out above that toungue moving up stream....
