Re: General April Weather
Howick is probably too far east to catch much activity in the Auckland area today... luckily I already watered the garden yesterday

Re: General April Weather
Some Elevated convection around Raglan this morning with undulating and turbulent bases. Those showers look quite good in the central Waikato and the Coromandel Coast.

Re: General April Weather
The funnel cloud started at about 1:50 and was still there after 2pm so it was there for a long time really.
Here are some photos. Ive cropped them to fit within the 2mb limit.

Re: General April Weather
i decided to let this come to me instead of chasing it.
THat funnel cloud must have been very close to the auckland airport after looking at direction of my view point and rain radar at 2pm.

Re: General April Weather
will it be any good by then.Manukau heads obs wrote:That new shower line might make it all the way to here
I decided not to chase because it was breaking apart.
On another note - peat lakes around here are drying up rapidly. Lake E down the road from me is dry. Only seen that a couple times in my life. Not ever this dry though. Lake Kopuera at Rangiriri is drying up very fast. This is the lake just behind the pub there. Not to be confused with the giant lake Waikare which is just in behind lake Kopuera.
