16mm here.
Potential is there for downpours in Auckland tomorrow morning as the trough comes through.
The Total Totals are around 49 which would support lightning.

Yes, good point NZstorm on the total totals. K index also around mid 30's for upper north island this afternoon, so with the available moisture, downpours a very good chance across the upper north island.
Solid looking band approaching Northland at the moment off the back of that warm front. MS have a thunderstorm watch out now.
Currently 17mm , 22c with a 21dp.

Re: Tasman low with embedded front & troughs Jan 17- 22
Very good moisture convergence for tommorows setup. All that moisture will be put to good use and offsets the sat adab lapse rate by quite a good margin despite 500hpa temps forecast at -11 to -12.
Agree with NZstorm, the Lightning risk is probable with any convection, shear is zilch, so wet n pulsy storms.
There is also moderate to high amount of downdraft CAPE extended along the trough, so some good gusts possible esp when storms collapse, exacerbated by the high wv content any potential storms will have.

25c, 22c DP. Highest DP I've recorded this summer so far. It's ready to pop.

Yea your DP is still around 20!
Flip what a contrast to me once the odd Thundershower has cooled things down.
21.6 and DP at 14.6, nice change for a brief amount of time anyway......

Hey Tim. I think something might be wrong with your humidity sensor? I notice it was even showing less than 70% around dawn which seems way too low given this subtropical airmass

That area of heavy rain up north earlier today sure fizzled out. Just some spotty rain here this evening. Dewpoint around 20-21C most of the day.

Looks like a little convergence from SW of Auckland to the north of Hamilton just sprung up on the radar, couple of red spots in it.

Indeed, the anemometer seems to have also gone south as well (the bearings have started to cease). I only got the ISS less than a few years ago, the previous ISS and its components lasted much longer than this lot.David wrote: Mon 22/01/2018 19:39 Hey Tim. An isolated Cb over the North Shore. With the sun coming out now I can see a few showers are developing over South Auckland.
