Shower with big raindrops between Ilam and St Albans 3-4pm. Looks to be fairly isolated

Some sferics coming through.
Sky looks rather flat considering.
Could be in behind Timaru?

Not much happening up here either under the moderate risk, although there has been alot of TCU about all day.
Heavy showers now but nothing too ominus at this stage.
Last night was interesting with heavy rain and gale force Northerlies, a few branches down in parks this morning.

My wife tells me Halswell had a big lot of thunder and a hail shower at 3:30. Workmates reported brief hail in town too

Wasn't a whole heap going on flying over the Alps until we got to the divide, then some meaty turbulence for a short time. Beautiful chains of showers on the cold side of the low in the Tasman. Hazy and calm now as we approach the Queensland coast.
I noticed a severe thunderstorm watch for the western North Island.

This system, if or when it delivered, seemed to be very isolated.
Nothing general over a particular area. Very sparse.

Some Cu clouds down here today seemed to be, better than yesterday?
Thunderstorms down here, so far this thunderstorm season have been rather hopeless compared to the last 2 years that we have been here.

woa , that's impressive
Norfolk pines seem to get hit a lot
I wonder if its because they seem to be very sappy trees and also very tall

Re: General November Weather
Not surprisingly they changed it. Looked like possibly severe day here. Big CU congestus down south. And high cloud has moved away as models susgestedtornado wrote: ↑Mon 18/11/2019 10:28 i see they have a risk for severe thunderstorms there in the eastern south island with a risk of small tornadoes. i think from today its been one year since that big dusty tornado touched down north of ashburghton.
looks like more rain is on its way for auckland.
