looking at the cloud sheet to the south of it, there is a lot of energy associated with the jet stream

Just for the record, former TC Fili was declared extratropical by MetService early this afternoon. JTWC have also issued their final warning. Still packing 45 kt max winds and a central pressure of 989hPa though.
