Re: General February Weather
It did feel cold this morning, not ready for the cold weather yet.
The Airport is showing 10.8mm rainfall for the last 4 weeks and the short term outlook is dry, need a tropical low to head our way otherwise around mid April is when the seasonal pattern change starts to happen.

Summer has been the worst season of the whole year, last spring was westerly mostly and November was better than the summer as a whole apart from last week, winter had some squalls but not a permanent one like most of the afternoons of late

Re: General February Weather
The most horrible NE wind here today, not very summer like.
A run of hot and well above temps last week has brought the average for the month back to about normal but in general most days have been below normal by about 1C so if it not for 2 days with +7 and +6 above normal it would be another cool month.
Dry too again with 22mm recorded here in Rangiora as we missed most of the rain CHCH got.

will have just 17.6mm here and 51.8 for the year. A tad more than this time last year. God i hope this dry spell ends sooner rather than April like last year.David wrote:Looks like we'll end up with 21mm here for Feb, 56mm year to date. At least that's more than last year

I see Greylynn has had 12.8mm for the month, 45.8mm year to date.

Looking like a cooler pattern on the way for NZ. Auckland's maximums over the weekend into next week will struggle to exceed 22C with dry southwesterlies.

Hi Bradley, I see a couple of days in the mid 20s but nothing above 30...yet. It changes pretty quickly in this sort of pattern I reckon

Radio sport are saying snow has hit the NZ open. That golf course wouldnt be much higher than Queenstown and queenstown has 11C at the moment.
Is that reporting gone crazy?
