Re: General March Weather
See quite a strong S to SE Wind Change through Timaru, Oamaru and Ashburton. Still 22.8 in CHCH. Although the change cant be too far off. Im praying for no rain as want to play last game of cricket season today!! Hopefully it breaks up the band and moves out to sea or something.

Re: General March Weather
Yes, the threat of the big dry becoming the big wet over NE NZ has been there in the models.

No precip here although very overcast and grey, but, interestingly enough, the wind has gone back to the NE ?

Pretty warm here this evening, constant 19°C (DP 16) for the last few hours.
For the month so far it has only been 0.7 degrees cooler than January.

Their mean is obtained by (min+max)/2 isn't it? I have forgotten...Nev wrote:In contrast, Akld Aero's current March T-mean of 19.1C is 0.4C warmer than normal.
From my station the min+max average and a 1-minute average is calculated, and the min+max value is 0.5 degrees higher than the 1min average this month.

An interesting pressure gradient with the anticyclone just south of the Chathams and the low in the South Tasman Sea. A difference of 56 hPa. at 7pm.
