Did you guys get close to any good twisters? I kind of got the impression you were always close, but not quite in the right place.
There wasn't really any tornadoes occuring while we were there. Just the luck of our timing. A persistent upper ridge over the southern/central plains shut down the tornado potential. We did see small tornadoes on the 22nd. The storm structure on that day was amazing.

Lessons learned in 2007

You need an SUV. USA unsealed roads really crap out in the wet.
Mobile internet is essential.
Montana is a long way from Texas. Don't go there for storms, they arn't worth the gas prices!
Don't go east into Missouri (should have learnt from 2006!)
Denver is an ideal entry/exit point.
Don't try and find accomodation after midnight!
