Here's picture of a poor tree, outlived it's seedling time in a 44 gallon drum, just before the one way Orari River bridge on Scenic highway 72.

They look pretty good! How easy is it to grow them? Might think about doing it myself in future

Auckland city from my ferry commute home on Thursday
I love my new commute! So much nicer than driving even though it takes me longer to get home

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Got my new smartphone yesterday. Been experimenting with the camera quite a bit. Photos can be a bit hit and miss but here's a few relatively successful shots
On the ferry home
Rainbow at 5x optical zoom
Taken 40 minutes after sunset
Night sky with anemometer in foreground
Moon at 50x zoom

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Mixed results again today. Phone camera has a tendency to wash out the blue sky or over saturate it. Here's a selection of pics from today.

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Your photos look really good.
I bought a new camera the other day, rather than using my cell phone, a Canon IXUS.
Based on the old, in your pocket, style you can wipp it out at any momment.
Only trouble with these as when they get older, when you focus outwards, the projection lens tends to get spots on them from dust injected when you retract the lens, as I found out from my old Sony camera.
So much for Carl Weiss

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Yeah, it can produce quite nice and crisp photos. But you need to take a number of photos and pick the best ones as there were a number of throwaway shots I never posted here. Some shots, especially when using the wide angle lens, can turn out a little blurred in parts too.
Overall it's a pretty excellent camera for a smartphone - arguable the best the market has to offer right now. The phone is the Huawei P30 Pro for anyone interested.
For balance, here's a few of the pics that didn't turn out that quite as great.
Washed out sky:
Lens flare due to the sun:
Night mode photo - often suffers from blurriness, and here the grass is over saturated:
