Re: Picture(s) of the day
Few more pictures for ya from today. The sunset one is edited to be more realistic because let's face it, smartphones seem pretty bad at capturing sunset colours

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Went to the Chertsey Book Barn again today, and whilst I was there, I thought I would pop further down the road to see the newly painted and refurbished Doppler rain radar near Rakaia. Looks nice and very white.
My wife though, mentioned, it's a wonder that the place wasn't more secure looking as the gate with the roadway leading up to it was wide open and it wasn't fenced off as she expected as it looked like one of those spy devices that they have up Blenheim way.

Here's a picture I took late this afternoon of the NW Arch over the 4 Peaks range , taken from Ambler road near the Peel forest turn-off on scenic Highway 72.

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Popped into the remarkable Art Deco Masonic hotel pub at St.Andrews on the way home.
It's up for sale, so any Art Deco enthusiast who is out there, it's a real gem. Beats anything from Napier.
Only $900.000 or should I say, $899.999 by these day's pricing.
They managed to sell their local golf course, of course ( excuse the pun) named after the one on Scotland, but now the locals are trouble selling their iconic Art Deco pub, but with not much luck.

As it was a lovely mild day today, went to Mayfield and inspected the local junk shop.

Here's a picture I took of the 4 Peaks range, with impressive southerly lenticulars before the high to midrange cloud moved in from the west this afternoon.

Re: Picture(s) of the day
Cycling home last Friday evening in Wellington and noticed some interesting clouds so stopped to take a photo. Then I saw an AirNZ flight coming into land and thought maybe it just might line up perfectly, and it did!!

Re: Picture(s) of the day
I could not believe the plane flew the exact line. I showed them to a few friends, and they all said the plane surely made the trail. But no, the clouds were up at altitude in the distance. Just freaky alignment!!

Here is a webcam image of Pikes Peak snow, mid June (Unusual I think, but then it is about 14,000 feet or 4,300 meters).
