Raining nicely here. Heard a thunderclap at 7:59pm to the NW of here complete with 'dump' thunder but that was it.
NE convergence not quite getting here, which probably made the rain fall quite moisterous.

Been a steady rain here since getting home at 5.00 but has got a lot heavy over the last hour or so ,still no wind or thunder yet.

Wind has finally became blustery here now. 9pm shows the band splitting up however so probably nothing too exciting in store

Went out for a chase earlier, about 110km all up. Gust front, couple flashes, heavy rain. No hail or visible lightning strikes, quiet abit of surface flooding on some of the roads. Might post some pics up tomorrow.

I would have to say that was one of the most unusual storms that i can recall,even as late as 3.00 while i was in Rangiora,it didn't really look like anything was going to develop,but once we got back inland at about 5.00 it had taken on a much more threatening look to the sky.
