Pretty certain those historical records are from 9am to 9am. Townsville was back up to 16.7C at 8:40am this morning (LT), so not a record based on that time-frame.

Edit: Make that 17.2C at 9am this morning.

Yes, someone jumped the gun. 9am and 3pm yesterday both below 15C but rapidly warming this morning..

Apparently there is a violet storm or cyclone set to move into Adelaide/SE Australia with winds up to 90k/hr according to media reports.
