Re: General January Weather
Still only 17C in Grey Lynn, typical warm frontal affect with cool air ahead of the warm front.
Days this cool in Auckland in January are quite rare. Back in January 1998 there was a day with max of 17.8C on 9th NZAA.

Re: General January Weather
Looks like an improving day for Auckland tomorrow and it should warm up a bit despite the southerly wind. Will make a nice change from today.

Re: General January Weather
Does anyone one else think this rain is falling much more west than MS thought it would. We are getting a heap of rain when I thought we would get bugger all. The warnings are for east of opotiki but rain radar shows all the rain falling well west of opotiki.

Heavy drizzle here this morning which is just typical,i turn the irrigation back on last night as the place really dried out after a few hot days.

Re: General January Weather
Still is a bit drizzly in Auckland.
Some cooler upper tomorrow(Monday) suggests isolated cb over the west of the North Island if sea breezes can get going.
Looks like an interesting polar trough later in the week. Could be a severe thunderstorm producer for somewhere in the country if it comes off. Something to watch out for.
