Re: General May Weather
We dont get much in SW flows as a matter of fact, its westerlies or the change from NE to NW/W or a vigourous front for action.

Several SW flow days coming up. Michael, can you keep your SW flow comments to your own thread , unless you have something new to say.
Light winds here, sunshine/cloud mix, isolated showers over the region, mild 15C currently

Re: General May Weather
Sorry just usual rant,am trying best to keep it on topic, and confine to the "my SW topic"Still I enjoy some exciting weather too.anyway I reckon it be a mild wet windy winter rather than a snowy one even in the east though southland probably be snowy under W regimes.

Re: General May Weather
Warmer over your way Brian. A cool clear night here, cloud and rising dewpoints now. A lot of condensation on the outside of the house now with the rising dewpoint ,currently 13C dp 12C. A damp time of the year in Auckland with the cooling and high dewpoint mix.

Re: General May Weather
Was in Ashburton mid-morning; breeze there seemed to be southerly and smelled of the sea.
Cloud thickening and lowering here at Mayfield now, breeze from the SW.

Re: General May Weather
Yes some nice heavy spill over stuff from the coast showing great on the radar at the moment. Brief heavy spell of rain on the cards for inland South Canterbury.Orion wrote:And now moderate southerly breeze, raining quite noisily; 10.6 degrees.
High cloud has thickened again here and sitting on 17 degrees with a very light northerly to no wind at all.

Re: General May Weather
A few days out but the trough due late Sunday could be thundery in the north. Its a weak system but the upper air is cold (500mb-23C) and there will be some moisture (dp12-13C).
