Nice pic there Jamie.
T/cu convergence showers around Auckland.
We need a short wave to get the cb's going.

Boy im glad to see this. I just got home. Was a great little chase. Saw some strong rotation and a very short lived funnel cloud just before the storm began to dissipate. It had very strong inflow and at times a large area of rotation. Will post a pic from my phone in a sec.Manukau heads obs wrote:http://metservice.com/warnings/severe-t ... rm-outlook

Some pics
Big rain free base rain curtain small funnel cloud that lasted about a min The funnel was small but if your looking on a computer rather than a phone you can see a vertical piece of skud. That piece was rotating in that position around the funnel.

Nice
interestingly the upper level layer cloud (cirro cumulus type cloud) is thickenning up alot now over the area
you can see that happening on the sat image
seems to be a 'trip point' in the jet stream developing over the area...maybe just the forcing that is needed..
been up to 23.4C here...with 19.8C DP
amazing for the time of year
something big gotta happen...

This shower needs to clear soon, the SFC temperature needs to be higher for good activity.
Very nice pics Jamie.

Im going to chase this. There is strong inflow and slow rotation at times. Don't want to miss anything if it does something

Looks like the rain from that cell has missed us over here, just 0.2mm. Hopefully more to move down in the next few hoursspwill wrote:Just had a heavy shower pass over here, thunder heard as well

ive got mama cloud over head from the cell to my north (Te Kauwhata way). Hearing thunder from it too. I think it will miss me though and slide past to my north.
