Man send us some of that hot summer stuff!

Weather around here has been a right pain in the arse for ages now! If it's not wet its windy and if it's not windy or wet it's cold. I just want calm warm sunny days for once!

We're living in a country with an oceanic climate - places in the east at least had a dry sunny spring. People expect far too much - notwithstanding the record of climate realities. We're not in the Mediterranean. Locally I knew there would be a price to pay for that same dry sunny spring. Rotten December so far, no big deal.

No **** we don't live in the Mediterranean. Can't blame a guy for wanting some summer weather in summer especially when I've only had a handful of good warm calm days since the beggining of November. It is a big deal when it effects how you make a living

Got the fire roaring away this evening. Nice
All the cats are sitting around it.
Not bad for December.
Might get up to 13C tomorrow if this cloud layer doesn't clear? 8-o

Got 5mm here late yesterday. First rain of the month for Auckland.

Looks like we will get a warm front early next week with some decent rain.

I notice this low keeps being delayed. Was originally on for Saturday. Each day it's pushed out. Now it's Wednesday.

I prefer this December pattern to what we had in November, Auckland weather has been warmer with a lot less wind.

Quite a disparity between Metservice forecasts for Upper North Island for weekend and the 3 day rain charts.

Latest severe weather outlook looks juicy indeed for late this week/early next week for basically everywhere from Nelson northwards!! I would love to know if places like Kaikoura and Christchurch might get something out of it on Tuesday and Wednesday though!

Clearly MetService think the GFS is wrong about Monday! I was actually hoping the rain could delay til Tuesday as I have to travel into the city on Monday

Has anyone seen the new "Your Weather" tab on the metservice site? Metservice are using the UK WOW system to see local weather stations on a handy map.

Models are picking up a nice jucy lot of weather coming up next week. Will be interesting if it will stay in the models over the next 3 to 4 days or so.
Forecasts indicating a direct pipe of warm and very moist air from Queensland and the tropics to NZ influenced by a north Tasman low on Tuesday.
Forecasted Theta-e values pushing past 55deg C in parts of the North Island, indicates this one moist air-mass with quite a bit of convective potential, could get very uncomfortable and sticky. ;P

Northland could get some very strong NE winds developing on Monday if the forecast comes true due to the high pressure gradient.

Certainly a nice time to keep an eye on the models.

I'll be flat out binging Mobile Dental Units back from schools, so being unable to chase and working out in the weather a fair bit, I'll say Murphy will likely make this happen. It's ok guys, I'll take one for the team ;)

A slow moving High east of NZ will direct a tropical airmass onto NZ next week all going well, something to watch anyway. Some cooler weather to get out the way next few days

Beautiful day here.. this is more like it. Watching that troppo feed closely, it does look like it will ruffle a few feathers for those that don't like opressive humidity but for once, I will welcome it.

Stunning day here. Reached 26.6°C before wind changed NE and dropped to a more pleasant 20-ish around 5pm.
Forecast show's we're in for a few more days of the same.
