Weather in Croatia

Unread post by AdriaticWeather »

Hi!

I'm from Croatia (Dubrovnik city). I'm 23 and I like meteorology, weather photography, storm chasing etc. Here are some photos of various weather conditions in my area. And sorry because I don't speak English very well :)

Thanks - awesome photos. :o :) I wouldn't want to be out at sea during that storm.

In Dubrovnik, do the mountains offer much shelter from cold winter weather coming from the northeast?

Yes, but mountains also cause hurricane and cold NE wind (called Bora, picture 4) when the cyclone is in south Italy. Bora gusts can reach 200 km/h and 250 km/h at the north part of Adriatic sea.

Bora wind:

..Or weak trees ;) ;) ;) :D

Roll on the next TC so we can get a bit of one-upmanship going

(Tries to remember the last decent cyclone...but memory banks fail <sigh> )

Excellent photos there though. =D>

Molim vas, govorite polaganije, Ja ne razumijem ;)
We have a large Croatian/Dalmation population here (descended from the Kauri gum diggers at the turn of the century) Some rubs off... 8-[

(Had a little help with this one as my spellchecker blew up  )

^ Michael, I don't quite understand your post or why you're replying to a thread that's over 5 years old?
