Beyond my wildest expectations

Unread post by Willoughby »

...we had dense fog this morning, midsummer
I think it must be because of the wet december we recieved, making the ground damp, much like last March, as we also got a unusally high amount of fogs after the wet February. I also think the sun yesterday heated the ground up a lot, combining with the cool upper air temperatures as seen by the cumulus topping decent heights yesterday.

I assume Otorohanga - Taumarunui also got the fog this morning which cleared here 8.30

mmmmm it smelt so good :P

Could imagine that the fog would hang around Otorohanga for a while, I lived there for about 8 years.

An early morning trip to the airport this morning and there was some mist over some of the parks on the northern side of Christchurch at about 5:30am. There was nothing down here on the SW side.

I think you will find the North, North east side of CHCH does get alot more mist than what the rest of chch get. Dont no why that is though, possible it is lower lieing land??

Anyway saw a rainbow today, even if it was only half a one. at about 9pm when i was out looking at the sun setting. Was over CHC cental city.
So must have been abit of moisture in the air!
