Cutting through
My favorite photos from last night. Light drizzle turned to rain about tea time and then broke to a great sunset. Photos shows the transmitter on Mt Cargill cutting a line in the mist falling down the southern side. Enjoy.

I actually have two Sony cameras (well of course, I have two hands?!? )
One is an older still camera, a Sony Cybershot DSCS75, which has most of the functionality of a manual camera and I just purshased a Digital Video camera which I took this shot on. It's a Sony DCRHC40E.
I actually wanted a larger optical zoom on the new camera. Panasonic offered this but I just didn't like it as much as the Sony. I'll probably purchase a Tele Conversion lens for it. Has anyone added an extra lens to there digital video camera? I was told I would lose an exception amount of light, thus making the quality worse?

I have a Sony PC101E and after my experience chasing in December, I bought the standard Wide Angle converter for it. It lacks a bit of clarity around the edges but it covers most of what I can see out the windscreen when it's sitting on a tripod in front of the passenger seat. Other drivers seem more cautious when they notice it ... can't think why
There was a higher quality version but it's $450
Adding a 2x teleconverter will need double the light for the same exposure.
... that should be double the f ratio so four times the exposure !!
