The Daughter ???

Unread post by NZ Thunderstorm Soc »

Will we get the Daughter of Wintry Blasts over the next few days?
It's raining now here in Chch as I type, washing away the last of last Weekend's snow

Looks as though it will clear up and bring "Michaelish" skies to ChCh - higher barometer - even though a bit cool but unfortunately warming up from the Weekend!!!

THE "Daughter" looks as though it delivered, and as a bonus a "1020 scenario" as well, tucking in behind, thanks to the low off the Farewell spit!
Cold southerlies in Ch Ch all day turning to clearing with the odd wintry shower. No snow flurries as it wasn't cold enough and the barometer
Barometer now 1024hPa here at 6pm

There could be another cold blast at the end of next week (seems to be becoming a regular pattern) - but only according to UNISYS, the only models looking that far into the future.

Still fine over central Auckland.

The low/cold pool out to the west of the NI this evening should become more unstable over the warmer seas. Hence may be some thunder overnight.
