Windy n Wild but not everywhere

So I was meant to wake up to drizzle here today but instead it's blue dome and windy. A Northerly kicked in yesterday and has got stronger through the night.

And to reiterate my point about why it's not always the best indication to look at the Dunedin Airport obs for Dunedin...

Airport 9am -4C and a 6kph Southerly (yes i know the weather vane may have flicked around just at that moment)
Dunedin City 9am 5C and a 50kph Northerly

Dunedin can get hammered by that northerly that comes through the harbour. The Taieri valley is quite sheltered from it. Taieri's climat has a bit of the inland otago effect, severe winter frost.

The Gales are slow in arriving today-mostly sunny as of now but the gales are arriving now

Nah, it was hot here today. Especially around the Octagon

. Biggest fire I've seen. Unfortunately I believe some firefighters were hurt along with some public.

Should have been a front hitting the time the fire was going but it never arrived til dark and hasn't carried much punch so far
