Weather playing 'cat and mouse'
Yesterday, areas of rain and drizzle were forecast for Chch. Well there was brief slight drizzle later in the afternoon, but nothing else. This morning it is supposed to clear - the latest MetService forecast doesn't even mention early drizzle. Yet it's been drizzly so far. Maybe the niggly little trough out to the southeast has moved back.

At least Auckland won't be averaging around 7-8C in the daytime, during the wet weather. Anyway, it's been improving somewhat this afternoon - no more drizzle, but still cloudy and cold.Tich Well you will be able to "laugh" at us up in Auckland when the spring westerly pattern and constant wet weather starts and you get no wind and sunshine

BORING traditional weather

I'm sure the southwesterles forecasted in the weekend will blow it over

What a change - today it's sunny and mild with a fresh northwesterly (or northerly - it's hard to tell the wind direction with all the buildings around). We haven't had this sort of weather in Chch for some time. Funny that MetService were precdicting rain for today, when they were predicting fine wetaher earlier yesterday, while it continued to drizzle through the morning.

Hi Deano
Did notice cloud forms to the south around 5pm when tending to my wife's horses out at the back of Wigram and kept an eye in that direction until it get dark but however, they were a bit dead electrically. According to the Rakaia radar there was a wee bit of precipitation in them.
It's a shame really as I was hoping for some weather especally with this weather system.
Today I recorded 19.2C in my Stevenson's Screen.
