Today in Auckers

Unread post by C-Nimbus »

Just thought i'd start something new.

Some quite staunch congestus around auckland today. Nice and warm too, certainly has that spring feel in the air.

Not too sure what the upper is doing today but so far the tops are crisp and looking promising, lots of lift etc.

Maybe the odd shower this arvo

Yes, one or two low top Cu towers late morning and a brief shower South Auckland way.
Will be very little in the way of showers today. Dewpoint only 8C.

Its a bit annoying that unstable trough bypasses Auckland.

Looks like being dry now for several days atleast.

there was a breakthrough cumulus over the hunua ranges later in the afternoon ....if it was summer, a day like today could have seen some action, on the edge of that trough to the north...

Some nice convection here late afternoon and evening! 8)
Heavy showers concentrated over inland Waikato, some 20km between here and Matamata. Lighter falls extended here in Hillcrest, Cb looked great with the sunset shining on it, wish I had my camera with me.

Another day of MetService's unforecasted showers ;)

A cb or two over inland Waikato late afternoon with tops to around 4000m. Quite low topped.

Bigger clouds over upper Northland though.
