NORTHLAND AUCKLAND
Between midnight Saturday 17th and 9pm Sunday 18th, expect gale force
winds which are likely to shift from north or northeast to northwest
during Sunday morning and southwest in the evening. There is a risk
of the winds reaching severe gale at times with gusts to 120 km/h.

any others game to come out for a meet?

Yes, if I'm in Auckland.
I'm heading South tomorrow. I'll be visiting my Parents who live in Mosgiel near Dunedin.

Will be good to experience this Low from both ends of the Country.

Thanks for the invitation Brian, hope you have a good day out there.

There was a small thunderstorm up here in northland this afternoon.. wind has picked up a wee bit, but nothing to write home about at the moment. I know we'll get a real good storm, but it will be while i'm trying to sleep I bet :P

It appears we'll be experiencing a deepening depression of another kind shortly. :?

latest sat image shows the front out to your NW well organised now with embeded CB's
rain radar shows heavy rain bands moving down the front, just to the west of northland

side note, could see that light aircraft and helicopter lights buzzing the sky tower from here (just under the cloud cover)

I think we should all be placed under house arrest, for our own protection. And we need National ID Cards...maybe tattoo numbers on our forehead. Won't somebody please think of the children?

Oops...I take it back...National isn't in power! Sorry about that! Carry on.

I'm umming and ahhing at the moment as well - Brians place is near the top of the South Manukau heads with the signal station not too far away. It's only 38km as the crow flies from my place, but by road it's nearly 100km ;)
Certainly it's a spectacular loaction!

Cheers,
