Your Vote 2005!

Unread post by Willoughby »

Sorry, couldn't resist this..! hope i'm allowed to do this :)

Just wondering what the results would be weather-people-wise...

A vote for green would see boring more balanced weather, a vote for nats could see more severe weather hmmmm :)

Just vote if you may want to and/or leave a comment why

Cheers

I'm intending to do a very split vote - my local mp has done a great job for the local area - I'm going to give him my vote. My party vote will be going elsewhere though.

Well, I'll be blatantly honest. Please remember these are my personal opinions, I'm entitled to them, they are not neccesarily fact but are my opinion based on my own observations in real life and/or from media reports etc.

I'm voting for Bob (the builder) Clarkson with my electorate vote and hoping Winstone Peters finally gets displaced. If we are really lucky NZ First won't get 5% threshold and that will be the end of him & his party.

As for my party vote, I think it will do the most good going for United Future, some of their goals/policies are important to me so that's who gets my vote.

For what it's worth I've met both Winstone Peters and Bob Clarkson on a few occasions and although Bob is a diamond in the rough, he is very much a straight up and down person, and he has the good of the community at heart. How many other politicians have spent millions of their own money building their community a stadium?

As for the accusations of late, Bullshit! His wife never left Tauranga to nurse her ill sister, she came over here, she was living in Matamata which simply didn't have the health resources we have here. This accusation simply couldn't have happened as Bob's wife never left home to look after her.

Well I'd just love to bet my left testicle that it will snow in Dunedin Sunday or Monday...
There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.

I'm not giving National my party vote because I don't want a blithering idiot to run the country.....

I'm with you on the negative aspect - have very unpleasant memories of the Muldoon era - but finding a positive way of expressing opinion is much more difficult.

I'm voting Green (and the local Labour MP) - I don't agree with all their policies, but they seem to be the only party highlighting the really important things, eg the future of our oil, energy, and pollution.

Relating more directly to this forum, has anyone heard any party positions on MetService and the budgets/resources to be allocated to weather forecasting?

Interestingly enough, Ben - NO  or [-(

MetService seen to be unpolitically motivated by any of the policial parties
Is the Weather a political issue?
In the age of "Designer Weather" then politics may be involved

It'd be nice to think they can stay above it all, but hard to imagine really.

Oh man oh man do I find the election results scarey

Just who will form a coalition and will it be stable :?:

I expect the bottom will quickly fall out of our dollar for a little while whilst the government finds it's feet as a result of this close election :!:

That's likely to mean higher petrol costs etc etc. Anyone planning on buying anything from overseas, do it quick smart.

As usual, these thoughts are just my opinion ;)

My vote goes to the greens. I sldo dont agree on all of their policies but they do look to the future. Also i agree national screwed up in the past by selling off all the states assets ect. but i think they have learnt from their mistakes of the past. The party make up is totally different so this time around i think they would form a suitable government. However looks like labours got the front running for a 3rd term.

I dont really mind who forms the government
