Do enjoy my wee story about my trip to and from auckland yesterday
Yesterday was rather interesting. I had to shoot down to auckland to pick up a dog for mum, and it took me 5 hours instead of 3 because of the weather.. Waipu flats were almost literally flat, there was so much wind that it tipped a truck over in front of me.. the rain was so heavy that i couldnt see where I was going lol..
Weather coming home, now that's another story all together.. Got to wellsford - went, wheres wellsford. No power straight after a lightning strike.. took out the power from Te Hana as well, and other surrounding areas. Got thru kaiwaka and the weather got real interesting again.. Had to pull over outside the German Cafe (around 8pm) as I couldnt see for the rain. The whole car was rocking and check this out, SLIDING across the road. And I have high performance grip racing tyres!!!!~ Wasnt a tornado thankfully (and I only say thankfull cuz it was night time and I didnt have the camera) Lotsa debris from trees and crap - ended up following a FWD most of the way to Whangarei cuz I couldnt see in front of me, and seeing him swerve around the fallen branches etc was better.
After Whangarei, lotsa pretty lightning, a little bit of rain and nothing else really worth talking about.
So yes.. Hope you liked my little commentary

the brynderwyn station, which is ina bit of a hollow, was recording frequent squalls and gusts to 40 knots in those squals
i would say on more exposed ridges you would have been getting 50 to 60 knots in those squalls (which is the speed that makes driving start to get tricky with the car being pushed across the road (if you are not used to it))
we did not get that wind here, because the small low center that passed over the auckland area was not tight centeredm, but must have put the squueze on over northland, especialy the kaipara area

Yes I would tenc to agree there Ange I think the term CAR ENTHUSIASTS sounds a better word to name upon racers.
Actually the country is very sexist I believe I remember a close up inveestigation they did on racing and both susan and this other guy kept pointing fingers at guys where as it's not just guys infact Girl racers have been proven the worst drivers.
Cheers

I'm 39 but drive like an old lady. In fact, my driving is so 'conservative' that my friends used to call me "Miss Daisy".Angel wrote:Actually its males aged between 25 - 35 and old peopleinfact Girl racers have been proven the worst drivers.

One of my hobbies is photgraphing the spit on the inside of the windshields of cars behind me.
